The Role
My client is now recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer for their office in Birmingham. This role will see you technically and creatively challenged on exciting developments in the UK. Their projects thrive on teamwork and collaboration, making your excellent communication abilities and enthusiasm for achieving success with others invaluable in this role.
About the Role
As a Senior Engineer in Mechanical Services, you will be a key part of the team, with a high degree of self-government. You should have strong technical expertise, good leadership, and problem-solving skills, and be a forward planner with the ability to deliver high-standard work to project programmes. You will also take on the management of more junior team members, along with client relationship management.
You should have a strong track record in multiple sectors in which Syntegral operates. You will be a Chartered Engineer, educated to a degree level with experience working on a variety of medium-sized projects. You'll be part of an enthusiastic and committed team of Engineers and Technicians to deliver high-quality output on projects.
Client care and repeat business are crucial to their success, so you'll need to be able to develop and nurture relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Acting as Project Leader on selected projects.
2. Promoting the level of technical excellence within the team.
3. Making client presentations on selected projects.
4. Helping to generate repeat business through building relationships with clients.
5. Being client-facing and involved in all stages of the projects from inception to completion.
6. Managing Engineers and Technicians in the production of calculations, design deliverables (including drawings, specifications, and reports), site surveys, construction stage duties, client liaison, and project management.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
1. A Degree in Building Services Engineering (Chartered), or working towards. Candidates with HNC or HND with suitable design experience will also be considered.
2. A CIBSE professional registration.
3. Experience of at least 3-4 years working within building services design.
4. Demonstrable experience in delivering projects in multiple sectors.
5. Experience in software design including Microsoft, IES, and Revit.
6. Knowledge of British Standards, Building Regulations, HTMs, etc.
7. An understanding of incorporating various renewable technologies.
8. Experience in managing Junior Engineers, Apprentices, and Graduates.
9. Excellent communication and project management skills.
10. Understanding of commercial elements of projects.
11. Confident communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas.
12. Experience in contributing to bids, proposals, and tender specifications.
13. Essential technical experience: Design of Mechanical Building Services.
14. Able to travel to the office in Birmingham and clients across the region.
