Domestic Violence Support Worker, Refuge (Female*)

When families are impacted by domestic abuse it can become very difficult to deal with the trauma that comes with this, especially for children. Do you want to be part of their journey, working through these thoughts, feelings and behaviours to gain a positive outcome?
LWA are seeking a Domestic Violence Support Worker to join our Refuge Support Team. You will be providing holistic support to individuals and families who come to reside in refuge as a result of escaping violence and abuse. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively to attain the best outcomes for our service users.
You will need:
1. An excellent understanding of Domestic Violence and Abuse, and the impact on individuals and families.
2. Experience of assessing the needs & risks of vulnerable people experiencing trauma.
3. Values consistent with those of LWA and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Leeds Women’s Aid (LWA) is the largest women’s charitable organisation in Leeds and provides services for victims of domestic abuse, honour-based violence, forced marriage, stalking and harassment. LWA is the lead agency for two consortia, Leeds Domestic Violence Service and Women’s Lives Leeds.
