We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic pharmacy Dispenser to support our on-site and national pharmacy teams and our chief pharmacist at our Barlborough site.
This role would be Ideal for someone who has worked on a High street or community Pharmacy who is looking to move in a Hospital based role.
This role is 7.5 hours a week working on a Saturday.
What you'll be doing
You will be working under the supervision of the Site Pharmacy site Lead and pharmacists, and will liaise directly with the multi-disciplinary team to provide a high quality pharmacy and medicines management services.
You will be required to provide direct medicines management to all clinical areas at Shepton Mallet Hospital including; medicines procurement, distribution, medicines top up, dispensing, and stock control and maintenance as well as conducting medicines and pharmacy audits in line with the hospital audit cycle.
You will contribute fully to the weekly provision of the medicines replenishment service to all clinical areas ensuring each specific location is adequately stocked. This will include periodic stock check, creating orders and issuing them to clinical areas to ensure timely supply.
Co-ordinate, process and deliver ad-hoc and urgent stock requests ensuring that stock levels are efficiently maintained.
Generate transaction reports from automated medicines storage system in UTC and to investigate discrepancies. To monitor the local usage of drugs that are desirable/abusable and to help highlight and investigate unexplained changes in usage patterns.
What we’ll look for in you
* NVQ Level 2/3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
* Able to achieve competencies for job role including in house training and validations.
* Experience of working in a pharmacy environment.
* Experience of working with medicines/pharmacy procurement, distribution.
* Proven customer service experience.
* Hospital pharmacy experience (or Community Pharmacy) experience in areas of Medicines Management.
