This role is within the Environment Agency’s Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) programme and requires excellent data analytical skills. You will be self-motivated, able to plan and monitor your workload to fit with priorities, and possess excellent communication and networking skills.
You will work to embed COMAH tools into EA systems, assist in retrieving data from external sources, and store it in line with EA Records Management policy. You will produce visualisations and reliable data analyses to support Senior Advisors and Operational teams, ensuring effective delivery of the COMAH programme. Collaboration with operational teams within EA and other regulators, including HSE, is essential.
The team: You will join our Energy & COMAH Team in the Environment and Business (E&B) Directorate. We operate as a dispersed team across the country, working with various technical and project teams. Our objectives include informing and delivering environmental policies, influencing legislation, facilitating delivery, and building trust to secure resources for environmental initiatives.
Experience/Skills Required
We seek an enthusiastic and experienced data analyst familiar with the data lifecycle, including collecting, processing, analysing, and creating dashboards and visualisations to support programme management and decision-making. Your skills should include:
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with logical and creative thinking.
* Applied experience with Power BI and developing data science solutions.
* Excellent data visualisation skills and the ability to interpret stakeholder requirements for reliable dashboards.
* Innovative approaches to presenting programme data, including income, time recording, and KPIs.
* Capability to optimise existing COMAH management tools.
* Experience working collaboratively and supporting operational teams.

This is a flexible/hybrid role with an EA Office base location. Some travel and overnight stays may be required. Security clearance is necessary, with UK residency of 5 years. We are currently unable to support or sponsor visa applications.
