Summit ONE in Farnborough is home to the National Sales Company for the BMW Group in the UK, as well as BMW Group Financial Services which offers retailers, corporate and private customers a range of customised financial services. Alphabet (GB) Ltd. as a leading provider of Business Mobility Services is also located in Farnborough.

BMW UK, National Sales Company, Farnborough - Government Affairs - 13 Month Placement (July 2025)
The Government Affairs department is responsible for promoting BMW priorities and influencing Government and External bodies to protect, build and promote the image of the BMW Group and its products in the UK.
What awaits you?
Support the team in a variety of ways including (but not limited to):
5. Assist with daily administration and policy work keep up to date with all administration tasks (bookings, visits etc.) needed for the team; keep abreast of Parliamentary and other bodies’ updates (particularly trade bodies, consultations on relevant topics) and summarise actions for team
6. Event organisation (planning and execution) working with the team on the admin for visits to UK Plants from Government and External Stakeholders; liaising with all BMW Group colleagues needed for smooth running of visits; assisting on location for all visits.
7. Liaise with Government and external bodies as required: daily contact with UK Government and external bodies to assist with queries from both sides; building up, and working with internal BMW Group networks on topics as needed (topics have included Brexit, Covid and UK ICE ban in the recent past) to help in setting the company position; attending meetings at UK Plants, Westminster (including Parliament) and at other locations throughout the UK
8. Liaise with other (internal) departments as required
Qualifications & Skills
9. Studying for a Bachelor-level degree and predicted to graduate with 2:2 or above. We would welcome applications from a wide-range of students – the field of study is not necessarily relevant, and we are keen to interview applicants who can demonstrate an interest and passion for Politics and communications beyond their academic studies.
10. Relevant work experience is expected – particularly in the field of Politics and/or communications. This does not need to be long-term placements, but enthusiasm for the subject matter and a good working knowledge of Parliament/Government would be helpful.
11. Excellent communication skills – whether in person, on the phone or written - are essential as is consistent and reliable attention to detail.
12. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is required.
13. UK Driving License is preferred due to travel with the role.
