About the Cathedral
Saint Patrick’s Cathedral has been at the centre of our history and culture for over 800 years. Dating from the 13th century and built in honour of Ireland’s patron saint, Saint Patrick’s is the National Cathedral of the Church of Ireland and is also one of Ireland’s most popular tourist attractions. As part of its mission, the Cathedral Education Department runs a free education programme, which offers a wide range of themed tours, workshops, and activities to visiting school groups as well as family audiences.
Job Description
Saint Patrick’s Cathedral is seeking to develop a panel of freelance Music Workshop Facilitators for the purposes of delivering workshops to schools and family audiences. Our Music Workshop explores the important role of music in the Cathedral and provides students with an in-depth look at organs by introducing them to our WOOFYT: a wooden one-octave organ for young technologists. Facilitators may also collaborate with the Education Department to adapt or develop other music-themed activities for young visitors. Facilitators will be paid a fee on a per-session basis. The frequency of sessions will depend on demand.
