Our mission is to push the boundaries of complex cell analysis. Using the Lightcast platform we are working with major pharmaceutical companies and leading academic institutes. Together, using our next generation microfluidic platform, we are making advances towards new science, unique clinical approaches, new therapies and innovative products.
The Lightcast platform allows precise and highly flexible independent control of thousands of microdroplets independently and in parallel using software-generated light patterns. By combining droplets containing different cells, antibodies, cancer drugs, reporters and/or other reagents we can perform complex workflows and assays with a flexibility far beyond what is currently possible on any cell analysis platform.
About the role
We are continuing to expand the manufacturing team and are seeking an experienced Technician with relevant technical expertise to join us as we transition from development to production.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Manual assembly and test of our complex microfluidic consumable in a cleanroom environment.
* Assisting with process development and automation projects.
* Daily equipment and cleanroom checks.
* Providing DFM feedback to manufacturing and development teams.
* Cross-train and assist with instrument electromechanical assembly when required.
Requirements
* Lightcast is at an early stage of production, so being flexible with good attention to detail is essential.
* Experience of precision mechanical assembly, soldering, and operating semi-automated process equipment is required.
* Previous work in cleanroom environments is an advantage, but full training will be given.
* It is a great opportunity for you to take ownership of assembly process development as we grow, and experience of working in a business through a similar stage of development would be desirable.
* As we grow and build our manufacturing capacity and capability, there will likely be a requirement to remedy issues; we’d like you to have strong problem-solving skills, with a view to feeling ownership of both improvements and corrections on our product.
* We want you to be a self-starter, with a desire to grow with the business, and we’re keen to support your development, which is formed from a review process driven by you with targets set and agreed twice a year.
We offer a generous benefits package including:
* 26 days holiday, plus Public Holidays
* Flexible working hours
* Pension contribution matched up to 7%
* Private medical insurance
* Income protection
* Life insurance
* Subsidized gym membership and weekly cross fit sessions
* Access to Cycle to Work and Technology schemes
* Enhanced family leave policies
