Do you have a background in Creative and Performing Arts and are looking for that ideal part time role that fits around your other responsibilities?
Chichester College is seeking to appoint an Instructor/Technician to support the delivery of learning opportunities for students on various Dance, Drama and costume courses within the Performing Arts department.
As our Instructor/Technician, you will help support the building of props and sets for our productions held in our on-site theatre and various local venues. Recent productions include ‘Edelweiss Pirates’, ‘The Table’ and ‘Sister Act’ which were all very well received and watched by many members of the local community. You could be assisting with building anything from a jungle to a castle.
A key part of the Instructor/Technician role is assisting with the teaching of Drama and costume courses. This will include preparation of teaching areas, maintaining equipment and the asset register, distribution and collection of equipment on a daily basis and assisting both staff and students in the college working environment.
Relevant industrial, commercial or subject experience in performing arts is essential. To support both the pastoral care and academic development of our students, it is essential that you have GCSE English at grade C/4 or above, (or equivalent) and Maths GCSE at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards these, as well as effective organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
The role will require some flexibility in working hours.
