Technology Lawyer/Senior Commercial Lawyer – General Counsel’s Office – 7+ PQE – Flexible Locations- Birmingham, Manchester, or Leeds.
We are working with a leading international law firm seeking a Technology Lawyer or Senior Commercial Lawyer with 7+ years of PQE to join their Group Commercial Legal Services team within the General Counsel’s Office. This is a non-fee-earning role, providing critical legal support to the firm on strategic commercial agreements and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide commercial contracting support for the firm’s internal strategic projects and client solutions, including designing and negotiating client-facing agreements.
* Draft and review agreements for new client-facing products, AI and technology-related services, and professional solutions, including software as a service (SaaS) and licensing.
* Ensure compliance with the firm’s global risk policies while developing risk management plans for bespoke solutions and agreements.
* Deliver training and guidance to practice groups and the General Counsel’s Office on legal developments affecting the firm’s professional services.
* Support on ad hoc strategic projects requiring legal expertise and contribute to the firm’s contracting and risk management frameworks.
Key Requirements:
* Qualified solicitor with 7+ years’ PQE, ideally with experience in technology, AI-related contracts, or complex commercial agreements.
* Strong knowledge of intellectual property rights, data protection, confidentiality, and related regulatory matters.
* Proven experience in drafting, negotiating, and advising on technology-related contracts and professional services agreements.
* Excellent analytical and communication skills with a pragmatic, commercially aware approach.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities within a non-fee-earning environment.
