The focus of the Assistant Accountant role is to support in the delivery of high quality financial and management information for the relevant regional or core functions accounting team.

What are the day-to-day tasks?
Support the (deputy) controller in monthly accounts close for countries within region or core functions. Prepare and post monthly journals including payroll postings, accruals and prepayments and regional specific cost adjustments. Periodic reconciliation of regional entity balance sheet accounts with a focus on agreed key accounts. Assist in drafting insightful monthly management variance reports for both Income statement and Balance sheet supporting (deputy) controller. Support AP Non-Trade with invoice coding and posting review. Trend analysis and comparison against plan & prior year before month end close. Understand business impact of own processes in order to maintain accurate accounting. Assist the (deputy) controller where required in providing accounting support to other areas of the business. Support specific group related accounting matters where applicable Assist in preparing aspects of Cost Budget/Reforecast for your region as appropriate Report monthly with actions to the (deputy) controller to maintain a clean balance sheet. Proactively work with relevant stakeholders to ensure all outstanding balances are followed up with clear notes, timelines and actions for resolution. Awareness of and adherence to relevant controls for own processes Where appropriate, seek opportunities to recommend improvements to existing internal controls. Support with larger deliverables or take lead on simpler group and local audit deliverables. These include:
Completion of relevant items for compliance with local legislation. Submission of completed balance sheet reconciliations with supporting documentation to group and local auditors. What else are we looking for?
Good knowledge of financial and management reporting preferred Good written and oral communication skills, able to communicate financial matters to non-technical experts Intermediate command over MS Excel essential - Advanced level is desirable Analytical skills with previous experience in creating and writing commentary for management desirable Experience of SAP ERP/MS Dynamics 365, (Power) BI (desirable but not essential) German language beneficial Experience of Accounting & Payroll within Austria, Germany or Switzerland desirable but not essential Qualifications:
