Are you a Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist looking for an exciting new opportunity, or a Band 5 seeking the next step in your career progression?
This role will involve the successful candidate working in a bedded neurological rehabilitation unit with patients post stroke and ABI with a range of medical aetiologies and disorders of swallowing and communication, including voice. Dysphagia competencies are a requirement of the role and experience of managing dysphagia is essential.
Main duties of the job
You will be joining a dedicated, supportive and friendly team of 11 Speech and Language Therapists and 1 Administrator.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Leading SLT team in the Neurological bedded unit (Holywell).
Working autonomously in the bedded unit.
Providing assessment, treatment and working as part of MDT.
Supervising NQTs and students.
Person specification
Education /Qualification
* Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree.
* Health Professions Council licence to practise.
* Registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
* Dysphagia-trained.
* Evidence of successful completion of specialist post graduate short courses relevant to the adult caseload.
Experience
* Experience relevant to an adult caseload.
* Management of dysphagia in acute, rehabilitation, community, OP settings.
* Able to demonstrate the application of in depth, new and ongoing learning and experience to clinical practice.
* Experience in the provision of training for others.
Skills and Knowledge
* Good presentation skills in both verbal and written form.
* Good organisational skills including prioritisation.
* Ability to independently integrate complex information to manage individual clients.
* Ability to negotiate with and influence people.
* Highly developed hearing, concentration and perceptual skills.
