The primary focus is to maintain the current control platforms, assist in project conceptual designs, detail engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Design and troubleshoot process control systems. • Engineer, design and test electrical, instrumentation and automation systems associated with industrial manufacturing plants. • PLC/HMI hardware/software design, programming, and troubleshooting. • Develop and engineer electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and PLC logic. • Design and implement process network infrastructure (Ethernet, Device Net, Control Net, etc.). • Interface and communicate with vendors, process engineering, installation contractors and project management. • Specify and procure controls hardware and field instrumentation. • Database programming skills a plus. (SCADA) • Compliance and enforcement of company, safety, environmental, government policies and regulations as they apply. • Understand and assist in application of company safe systems of work. KEY COMPETENCIES: • Strong understanding of PLC ladder logic, programming methods, and process related control systems. (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc) • Ability to design/enhance HMI applications. • Ability to examine complex electrical problems, identify root cause, determine method for repair; plan and organize work. • Knowledge of automation (PLC) and electrical system design, diagnosis and operation. • Knowledge of applicable Electrical Codes. • Ability to operate electrical test instruments • Strong experience in plant commissioning • Effective levels of communication within the workplace. Education/Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (Preferred) • Demonstrated Control Systems competency. • SQL Database knowledge preferred Working Hours: • Monday to Thursday 8am to 4:15pm • Friday - 8am to 3pm Benefits • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays • 10% matched pension • 3x annual salary life assurance • Profit related bonus scheme Please note this role will be site based
