We have an exciting newly created Data Architect role in our growing IT department based in our Bristol office. This position will play a crucial role in establishing and building out our Data Architecture capability across the firm, aligning data strategies with business initiatives by developing the data architecture, defining data standards and guidelines, and overseeing the design and implementation of data solutions. This is a permanent position offering hybrid working. The role The Data Architect will lead the development and maintenance of the target Data Architecture and roadmap that enables Osborne Clarke's strategic aims. This role will work closely with the Change &Transformation team on best practices around data from a project delivery point of view. Other key responsibilities include: Data Architecture Development: Developing and maintaining the target Data Architecture and roadmap. Identifying candidate Architecture Roadmap components based upon gaps between the Baseline and Target Data Architectures. Data Modelling: Creating conceptual, contextual, logical, and physical data models to support the use of data across the business. Developing data standards, guidelines, processes, data structures, and architectures for data modelling and design. Emerging Technologies: Evaluating and advising on emerging data collection, analysis, and integration technologies. Aiding efforts to improve business performance through enterprise information solutions and capabilities, such as master data management (MDM), metadata management, analytics, content management, and data integration. Data Security and Compliance: Inputting into the overall plan to aid in data and information security, integration, data handling, and compliance. Minimising risk by aiding in the definition of data classifications and data zoning. Analysing data and analytics security requirements and solutions. Project Support: Ensuring project design deliverables adhere to OC's Architecture principles. Providing guidance and support on data architecture and integration to project teams. Identifying and recommending common data and integration technologies, frameworks, and approaches for use by project teams. Data Governance: Designing data governance and compliance requirements to manage the governance aspects of data entities throughout their lifecycle. Working with the Risk and Compliance function to ensure all global legal and client data requirements are adhered to. Continuous Improvement: Working with the Head of Strategy & Architecture to continuously improve the maturity of OC's Data Architecture, Data Principles, and Data Privacy Principles. Taking ownership and creating the data building blocks and data entity/data component catalogues within the Architecture repository. We are looking for Ability to engage stakeholders and find alignment/consensus in the design of data and integration solutions. Excellent interpersonal skills with people at all levels, internally and externally, with proven ability to influence senior leaders' strategic thinking in line with organisation priorities. Ability to communicate complex data concepts in an engaging manner to technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to demonstrate the impact of information and integration services and return on investment. Industry certified to TOGAF level 2 or equivalent. Understanding of data management issues. Understanding of data and privacy regulations such as GDPR, DPA. Database/Repository Design. Understanding of Data Analysis. Understanding of ITIL. Professional services experience in a global firm.
