Business Development Director - SaaS
Due to our ambitious growth trajectory and strategic objectives, Bellrock Technologies is seeking an experienced, driven, and strategically minded Business Development Director to lead and develop our Business Development function. This senior-level role is focused exclusively on proactively identifying and targeting key accounts, generating strategically aligned opportunities, and effectively transitioning qualified prospects to our Solutions team.
You will lead by example, proactively generating and nurturing relationships with strategically significant clients, clearly defining our ideal target accounts, and ensuring the effective qualification and management of opportunities. This role manages our Sales Development Representative (SDR) Manager and our Business Development Manager, guiding their performance, development, and overall strategic focus.

1. Providing strategic leadership of the Business Development function, proactively developing and implementing clear, effective strategies to identify, target, and qualify high-value opportunities aligned to Bellrock Technologies’ ambitious growth plans.
2. Direct line management and development of the SDR Manager and Business Development Manager, clearly setting objectives, mentoring, coaching, and ensuring consistent high performance and professional growth.
3. Leading by example in strategic targeting, personally driving the identification, development, and nurturing of key strategic accounts, focusing on sectors such as banking, professional services, healthcare, higher education, investment funds, and other organisations with complex property portfolios.
4. Working with SMT to promote Bellrock Technologies into new vertical markets and international territories.
5. Owning the business development pipeline, ensuring clear processes are in place to strategically qualify opportunities and smoothly transition leads to the Solutions team at the appropriate stage.
6. Actively maintaining and refining strategic market intelligence, ensuring Bellrock Technologies remains highly informed on market trends, competitor activities, sector developments, and emerging opportunities to maximise effectiveness of strategic targeting.
7. Collaborating closely with the Solutions Director and Director of Revenue, clearly defining and agreeing upon qualification criteria, opportunity alignment, and ensuring the seamless transition of qualified leads to the Solutions team.
8. Establishing and clearly communicating KPIs and metrics, consistently monitoring team performance, driving accountability, and proactively addressing opportunities for continuous improvement.
9. Regularly reporting and presenting to the Senior Management Team (SMT), clearly articulating pipeline status, strategic insights, forecasts, and performance against business targets.
10. Owning and optimising the CRM platform (HubSpot), ensuring the Business Development function effectively captures, tracks, and manages pipeline activities, interactions, and prospecting efforts.
11. Representing Bellrock Technologies as a senior leader, maintaining a visible, influential, and credible presence on LinkedIn and other relevant channels, proactively enhancing the company's market profile.
12. Regularly attending industry exhibitions, networking events, and strategic forums, proactively identifying new opportunities, networking strategically, and positioning Bellrock Technologies effectively in key target markets.
What does it take?
1. At least 5 years’ proven experience in a senior business development leadership role, ideally within a software, SaaS, technology-led, or complex-solutions-focused business.
2. A demonstrable and proven track record in successfully leading strategic business development teams, specifically around new client acquisition, strategic key account management, and opportunity generation.
3. Demonstrable experience in clearly formulating and executing strategic targeting plans, driving effective prospecting initiatives, and achieving sustained growth targets.
4. Strong leadership skills, with experience directly managing, mentoring, and coaching teams including SDR Managers and Business Development Managers, enabling consistently high performance.
5. Technologically savvy and digitally confident, experienced in effectively using CRM systems—ideally HubSpot—to track pipeline activities, manage strategic outreach, and clearly report on performance.
6. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, capable of confidently engaging senior stakeholders, internally and externally.
7. Strong commercial acumen, capable of clearly aligning business development activities with the broader organisational objectives, profitability targets, and P&L goals.
8. Degree educated or equivalent professional experience, demonstrating strong strategic thinking, analytical capabilities, and exceptional communication skills.
9. Experience or understanding of sectors such as the built environment, Facilities Management (FM), Property, Asset Management, or related PropTech markets is highly advantageous.

9. Collaborative and Engaged – You proactively build strong internal relationships, working closely with Solutions, Marketing, Product, and Senior Management to ensure strategic alignment and clarity around pipeline management and opportunity qualification.
10. Exceptional Attention to Detail – You consistently ensure the accuracy of pipeline information, strategic account plans, and reporting, providing clear and insightful updates to the SMT.
11. Credible and Visible Representative – You proactively represent Bellrock Technologies, maintaining an influential presence at events, exhibitions, and on social media to continually build market credibility and drive new business engagement.
Working arrangements

In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work from the Liverpool office two days a week with the team and the rest of the week can be worked from home.
