Farnborough Spencer Academy
Our core purpose is to ensure that everyone at Farnborough is able to say “We Are Proud”, and this remains central to all we do. Our Academy is an exciting place to be. In September 2022, Farnborough was graded as “GOOD” by Ofsted in our first inspection since joining The Spencer Academies Trust.
We received a “GOOD” grading in all areas, including behaviour and attendance, personal development, quality of education and leadership and management. This endorsement was a just reflection of all the hard work, effort and commitment shown by our Academy community over a number of years.
Ofsted states “this school is a warm and happy learning community where everyone can be themselves. Pupils and staff pledge to be proud of the school, and they are. Pupils treat each other with respect and kindness. They laugh and smile. They enjoy positive relationships with staff who know them well.”
We make no apology for having high expectations of all. This includes colleagues, and we enjoy working with a brilliant staff team who will go the extra mile to ensure all our students succeed. This ensures that we develop positive relationships within the Academy and with our wider community in Clifton and Nottingham.
We are committed to providing high quality teaching and learning for all students. Practice is consistent and high quality across all classrooms through the implementation of our Teaching and Learning Fundamentals.
We are committed to professional development, through our instructional coaching programme, supporting us all to reflect on and improve our practice. We follow the mantra “Every teacher needs to improve, not because they are not good enough, but because they can be even better.” We have an open door culture where staff regularly ‘drop in’ to each other’s classrooms and celebrate practice and support each other.
In applying for this role, you should be committed to your own professional development and buy into our culture of continual improvement.
Colleagues at Farnborough make the pledge below to our students and families. Those who work with us are expected to show that “We Are Proud” by following this pledge every day.
* We believe in your right to receive a first-class education.
* We show pride in our academy community by valuing everyone for who they are.
* We recognise and nurture your talents and abilities, supporting you to achieve in all that you do.
* We have consistently high expectations of our whole academy community.
* We create an environment where all feel safe, secure and supported.
* We want your eyes opened to life’s opportunities so that you aim high.
We are looking for a dedicated cover supervisor to join our team, with a focus on high expectations.
