Senior Social Worker required to join a busy Community Adult Social Care team covering Central Shropshire Area. The team supports Adults with learning disabilities, adults with physical disabilities and older people. The team is currently based at the Shire Hall, Shrewsbury but is due to move to an alternative base in the Guildhall in Shrewsbury town centre in the next few months.
The team works in a hybrid way, working from the office when supporting with duty and also promoting face-to-face supervision and team meetings where possible, whilst also having some time working from home.
We are looking for a Senior on a 12 months fixed-term basis as back-fill to cover the secondment of one of the current 3 Senior Social Workers in the team. There may be the opportunity for this to be extended as the end date of the secondment is under review.
The Senior will support the team’s busy duty responses on a rota basis, supporting the team manager, supervising team members, and managing team performance and workloads. There will also be the need to support with Mental Capacity assessments and best interests meetings for unqualified practitioners, as well as managing a low number of cases as required.
You must have:
* A professional qualification in social work
* Social Work England registration
* Post qualified experience
* Enhanced DBS/Update service
* References required for the last 5 years of employment
