About You:
Our client is a very successful and highly regarded private physio clinic offering services to their patients from three locations across Wiltshire. Our client seeks a podiatrist (flexible up to 37.5 hours pw) to join its clinics who will be contracted to travel and work from one or more of their three locations (Devizes, Frome, Marlborough). About the role:
What will I achieve in my first 12 months?
Starting with a structured induction plan, you’ll progress step-by-step until you’re fully equipped with the tools and knowledge you need to start treating their patients.
You’ll develop an understanding of all of the services they offer and be an important part of the multidisciplinary team, learning how to make recommendations and refer patients to the other services when required.
You will enjoy a varied caseload that includes various podiatry treatments, including Swift, Clearanail, nail surgery and biomechanical assessments.
General day-to-day duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Assess each patient thoroughly to identify their ailment.
* Develop intricate clinical skills requiring prolonged concentration in wound care and ulcer debridement, enucleation and debridement of fibrous and neuro-vascular lesions including corn and callous and other dermatological conditions.
* Neurological and vascular assessment using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
* Minor invasive and sterile surgical procedures.
* Use of materials to redistribute foot pressures.
* Assess patients with foot health pathology including those with systemic disease (e.g. diabetes, vascular, systemic inflammatory disorders) to maximise improvement through high levels of technical skill and behaviour change management.
* Maintain clear, accurate and consented electronic records of all interventions.
* Plan a bespoke treatment programme that has been thoroughly considered in relation to the company's MDT approach.
* Communicate the diagnosis, treatment plan and the expected outcome to the patient at the very first appointment.
* Deliver the individual treatment programme for patients based on clinical findings and sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options.
* Prepare thoroughly before each follow-up appointment by reading previous notes and reminding yourself of the overall treatment plan.
* Review progress thoroughly at every session and alter treatment programmes accordingly.
* Communicate effectively with clinical leads on any complex cases.
* Show all patients to reception following each appointment and give a clear and concise handover to the receptionist.
* Tidy, de-clutter and reset room before every patient enters.
* Ensure all treatment methodologies can be justified against recognised best practice or evidence base.
