Senior Application Engineer
Up to £56,500 plus great benefits (Work Level 5)

We’re looking for a Senior Application Engineer to join our Collaboration & Automation team in Manchester. We’ll look to you to support our cloud collaboration platforms (e.g. Microsoft 365) and make sure the associated tools are deployed, configured, and managed effectively.
What you’ll do
1. Provide expert guidance and technical support for the deployment, configuration, and management of cloud services
2. Lead the planning, implementation, and maintenance of Microsoft 365 environments (e.g. Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Exchange Online) and other cloud collaboration services
3. Lead the resolution of complex technical issues related to Microsoft 365 services
4. Work closely with colleagues across DT&D to understand their collaboration needs
5. Identify and explore continuous improvement opportunities; closely monitoring service health, usage, and compliance
6. Create technical documents/solutions to help colleagues adopt changes to collaboration services
7. Work closely with technology suppliers to drive service improvements/initiatives
8. Contribute to the technical delivery of projects; planning, testing, and rolling-out solutions that meet our service delivery and security standards
9. Provide guidance and mentoring for our engineers - supporting them in their technical and service development
10. Cover for our Lead Technical Service Owner during periods of annual leave
This role would suit people who have
11. Significant experience in an IT Support or System Administration role
12. Significant experience in the delivery and implementation of collaboration services (e.g. Microsoft 365)
13. Strong technical expertise in designing, implementing and managing Microsoft 365 solutions
14. A basic understanding of networking, security, and cloud computing principles
15. Good communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to translate technical language to a non-technical audience
