This is a crucial role within the Commercial team, providing support to ensure projects are delivered within the budgeted forecast. The position aims to maximize profitability through effective cost control and optimizing variations to the Works. The role may involve overseeing a single large project or managing several smaller projects within a framework(s).

Key Responsibilities:
1. Work with and support the Project Manager(s) daily, to ensure projects are meeting commercial and financial targets
2. Build strong and collaborative relationships with your client and supplier counterparts
3. Contribute to regular and accurate reporting to the Commercial Manager on/for: PHR/CVR/Cash Flow/Weekly Updates etc
4. Carry out valuations for the purpose of initial, interim and final payment applications
5. Manage project sub-contractor and supplier accounts in line with the agreed subcontracts and to align with any upstream contractual requirements
6. Identify, notify, value and agree change (variations, compensation events, claims)
7. Work with the Commercial Manager to maximise the recovery of all contractual entitlements
8. Ensure the Works are managed in accordance with the terms of the contract and any conditions precedent therein, not least regarding the times for giving notices and making applications
9. Ensure that all contemporary records are kept by the project team members for use in supporting claims, extensions of time, and the evaluation of variations
10. Support any tender processes as required
11. Promote and maintain professional working relationships
12. Identify project risks and develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimise the commercial effect of said risk
What we are looking for:
Essential:
1. Demonstrable use and understanding of standard forms of contract
2. Adept knowledge of MS packages inc, Excel, Project and Word
3. A working understanding of valuation techniques of construction works including elemental cost analysis of items such as labour, materials, plant, sub-contract and general expenses
4. Ability to use programme analysis and measurement of Earned Value
5. Able to use accounting concepts and forecasting cost and value based on programme and scope of works
6. Understands and has used tools for the management of project and business costs including the use of cost saving techniques
Desired:
1. Detailed knowledge of NEC contracts
2. Knowledge of JCT contracts
Qualifications:
Essential:
1. Educated to A Level standard or equivalent
Desired:
1. Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent
2. Professional memberships such as RICS, CIOB, ICES or equivalent
3. Holds a valid CSCS card and hold a full UK driver's license
