Michelmersh Brick Holdings are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our team at our Blockleys (Telford) plant as an ENGINEERING ASSISTANT.
The successful applicant will work in our Engineering Department, working alongside other engineers, ensuring the administration, and monitoring of technical and engineering files are updated. The successful applicant will also be responsible for planning Training.
An awareness of health and safety must be demonstrated in the workplace at all times.
Job Specification
* Maintain accurate records of works performed, equipment used, and project progress.
* Ensure all tasks are performed in accordance with Health and Safety regulations and company policies.
* Maintain engineering service records for audits and provide administrative support for projects, including PUWER compliance etc.
* Liaise with contractors to ensure adherence to H&S standards, supporting permit-to-work processes.
* To have a hands-on approach to all tasks, completing frequent walk-rounds, recording issues and scheduling remediation works.
* Undertake inspections and investigations.
* Monitor asset performance, reliability, productivity, and efficiency.
* Monitor PPE usage.
* Maintain Training records.
* Generation of purchase orders and monitoring of Stock levels.
* Calibrating and troubleshooting equipment as required.
* Participating in various learning experiences, which may include attending workshops and training sessions.
Previous Experience & Qualifications
* Previous experience working in an Engineering /Manufacturing environment is required.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a keen attention to detail.
* A committed and driven approach to work.
* A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills within the engineering field.
* Proven experience working effectively in high-pressure environments, both independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of Pirana (PPM System) is an advantage.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* High level of accuracy and well-structured written communication.
* Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to use initiative and be pro-active when dealing with multiple ongoing jobs.
Personal Specifications
* Commitment to health and safety.
* Experience in Administration, stock control or factory support is essential.
* An understanding of engineering or manufacturing environments is beneficial.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Strong work ethic and teamwork skills.
* Health and Safety Knowledge.
What We Offer
* £26,000 – £28,000 a year.
* Production bonus dependent on production targets being met & upon successful completion of your probation period.
