Job Purpose:
Working as part of a small team of embedded engineers you will be key to developing our next generation of embedded automation solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to work as part of a team on complex electronics/software projects being a key member and driving force in the detailed design of systems for high reliability operation in a hostile environment.
You will work with the Project Manager, Product Manager and/or other stakeholders to develop technical specifications then realise the product and support its release to the end user. This may include the opportunity for occasional site visits in the UK.

Job Context:
* Use good engineering practice to design new and modify existing products
* Analyse scope and requirements, identify and solve problems
* Where required take responsibility for the entire product life cycle, including specification, architecture, design, validation, production release and customer support for released products
* Provide innovative solutions to technical problems
* Work with-in an agile multi-disciplined team
* Be a key participant of design reviews
* Support change management, testing, fault finding, prototype and production build.
* Provide end user support for both new and existing products.
* Technical liaison with within and outside Lucy Electric with customer, suppliers and collaboration partners
* Responsible for supporting team members
Job Dimensions:
* The role will be based in the UK, with some level of working from home negotiable.
Key Accountabilities:
* Deliver agreed work packages on time and to the agreed quality/standards
* Coordinate and deliver in cooperation with other project teams
* Assist with project planning and reporting
Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge
Minimum Qualifications:
* A good degree in a relevant subject (Electronics/Science/Engineering or equivalent), and a minimum of 5 years hands-on engineering experience.
Minimum Skills:
* Analyse the scope and requirements
* Interpret industry standards (BS/ISO/IEC/IEEE)
* Interpret and/or contribute to requirements and specifications
* The ability to work with software engineers to design and debug systems
* Soldering including SMT
Essential Knowledge:
* Experience in a range of technologies including digital, analogue and power electronics
* Experienced in writing design documents and test procedures
* Design and build of hardware electronic systems including packaging
* Familiarity with CAD packages for schematic capture and PCB artwork design
* Environmental testing and EMC
* Thorough knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, Powerpoint and Excel
Desirable Knowledge:
* Cadence/Proteus CAD software, but any relevant package acceptable
* Knowledge of MV distribution systems and switchgear
* Embedded Software
