About the role
The postholder will join an international team of epidemiological and clinical research leaders based at UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (London, UK) and working with collaborators at the Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori (Milan, Italy).
The post holder will be responsible for day-to-day project management activities, involving communication with different members of the project, clinical and non-clinical stakeholders and over 75 population-based cancer registries within and outside Europe. The goal is to contribute to policy recommendations to improve understanding of reasons for survival variation in childhood cancer and highlight areas of improvement.
This position is to cover maternity leave and is funded for up to 10 months in the first instance or until the post-holder returns. The salary offered is £43, - £48, per annum pro rata.
About you
We are looking for a highly motivated applicant interested in cancer research, with a Biomedical or relevant science degree, and a post-graduate background in public health/epidemiology or related subject area. Experience in project management and scientific writing is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required.
The post-holder will work closely with Professor Kathy Pritchard-Jones and will supervise a part-time research administrator, based at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health and must have the ability to work independently.
