Location: Cumbernauld (Wardpark North, G68 0LL)
Reporting to : Warehouse Supervisor
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (between 7am and 4pm Monday to Friday)
Summary
In DCC Vital Operations we work together to deliver personal care at point of use in the healthcare supply chain. You will contribute to this by monitoring and controlling transportation and ensuring timely deliveries in line with financial requirements without negatively affecting service. You will take shared responsibility for continuous improvement of our planning and delivery processes across a Balanced Agenda but with a consistent focus on service in line with agreed objectives.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
* Check vehicle before departure ensuring load is safe and secure, log/report faults
* Verify load against paperwork
* Deliver to and collect goods from customer premises
* Carry out Baxter deliveries as and when required
* Ensure all documentation is issued, signed and correctly distributed
* Operate the vehicle within the law at all times
* Ensure the vehicle is cleaned inside and outside as necessary
* Report issues to the Warehouse Manager to find solutions a quickly as possible
* Perform warehouse duties as required to meet the needs of the operation (when driving runs are complete or unavailable, you will be expected to work in the warehouse)
* Good geographical knowledge of UK.
Qualifications & experience:
In order to succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have:
* The relevant licence for the class of vehicle.
* Sound knowledge of the UK road system.
* PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) Disclosure, or willing to obtain, due to nature of work.
* Friendly and helpful manner particularly when communicating with patients to arrange deliveries.
* Excellent communication skills, the ability to foresee and communicate issues to enable swift resolution.
* Ability to work on own initiative, be punctual and flexible.
* A collaborative working style with the ability to build partnerships with key stakeholders.
* Knowledge of basic H & S requirements
