On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Management Accountant - (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract working on a hybrid basis with an expectation of 2/3 days at either Porton Down, Salisbury or Portsdown West, Fareham The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is a central government department with a mission to protect our country and provide the ultimate guarantee of its security and independence, as well as helping to protect its values and interests abroad. As a Management Accountant - (Inside IR35), your main responsibilities will be: Provide timely, accurate and value-added management and statutory accounts in accordance with the timetable, accounting standards and Dstl. Manage the External Delivery accruals assurance process working with Project Managers and Suppliers. Facilitate the preparation of division/function budgets and forecasts by ensuring stakeholders have the information required to support this in the appropriate format and to agreed timetables. Ensure the financial awareness of the management team is enhanced through the provision of advice, assistance and knowledge management. Have the flexible attitude to support the wider finance function to deliver Essential: SC Clearance Qualified AAT or part qualified CIMA or CCAB body Ability to undertake financial analysis quickly and accurately Track record of producing accurate, timely and value-added management accounts Working knowledge of forecasting and budgeting Good numerical/Excel skills Ability to work to tight deadlines Good, relevant experience of work in the finance function Desirable: Public Sector Experience Good, relevant experience of work within Defence or Financial experience in the Civil Service, industry or academia Experience of using Oracle Fusion Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
