Job description To drive any vehicle, excluding HGVs, in order to perform all activities that fall within the Cleansing Service of St Helens Council. To undertake driver’s daily checks, cleaning and maintenance of vehicles. To sign in/out vehicle keys, and to ensure that any spare vehicle used is tipped and fuelled each day. To assist in general refuse collection, street weeping and other duties within the Cleansing Section as required. To perform all tasks to the required level of production and quality. To collect any other instructions from the Driver’s board within the Cleansing Section on a daily basis and ensure that they are undertaken. To update current information to ensure running sheets are amended as necessary. Taking on-site decisions in non-routine circumstances. To pass on general communications to colleagues. Dealing with public enquiries relating to waste collection. Communicating and being the point of contact on the round with the Cleansing Office.
