Your new role, what's involved?
Join WSP's leading Quality Services (QS) business group as an Associate Quality Surveillance Engineer and play a pivotal role in safeguarding product and service conformity to meet our clients' highest standards. As part of our dynamic team, you will help deliver the highest quality surveillance services across the globe, supporting sectors such as Energy, Industrial, and Transportation. As a global ISO 17020 "Type C" Inspection Body with a rich 40-year legacy, we pride ourselves on providing comprehensive quality consultancy, audit, advisory services, and manufacturing assurance. Our work spans diverse areas, including asset maintenance and manufacturing assurance for new and refurbished power plants, nuclear, offshore wind, hydro, thermal and solar power production, and additionally battery storage equipment. You will have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from Subject Matter Experts in all these fields.
In this role, you will:
1. Oversee Quality Control and Assurance of Mechanical and/or Electrical equipment during manufacture, ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
2. Conduct supplier and process audits, contributing to the continuous improvement of our quality systems.
3. Assist in the review, mark-up, and approval of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and associated quality documentation.
4. Engage directly with clients and their supply chains, addressing all quality matters with clear communication.
5. Prepare detailed technical reports that document the results of Quality Surveillance activities.
6. Collaborate with Project Managers, providing technical insights that support inspection and testing activities.
What we're looking for:
1. Recognised craft apprenticeship training and formal engineering qualifications (HNC, HND, BEng, BSc, or equivalent).
2. Experience in any of the following areas is desirable but not essential:
3. Electrical Engineering: Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, Cables, Motors
4. Mechanical Engineering: Valves, Pumps, Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Rotating Plant, Piping, Pressure Vessels, Compressors
5. Quality Engineering: Auditing, Supply Chain Assessment, Quality Management Systems

Other Attributes
1. As an Associate Quality Surveillance Engineer, you will need to demonstrate a methodical approach to inspections and problem-solving. You should have the confidence to challenge manufacturers, client contract partners, or client representatives when you identify any non-compliance with project specifications. Your ability to stand firm on quality standards will be key to our success.
2. Detailed reporting is a significant part of a Quality Surveillance Engineer's daily routine. We require candidates who are not only computer literate but also skilled in crafting clear, concise, and technically accurate reports. Your reports will play a vital role in documenting our quality assurance efforts and ensuring that all stakeholders are well-informed.
