The Peer & Lived Experience Workforce at Central & North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) is looking for an inspiring and experienced lived experience leader to shape the future of peer and lived experience training within and beyond the Trust.
This is a unique opportunity to grow and lead a new Peer & Lived Experience Training Team in delivering innovative and recovery-focused training for peer and lived experience workers and peer supervisors. You will work alongside a diverse staff group, fostering excellence in training delivery and development, while championing the value of lived experience at all levels.
As theTrustwide Peer & Lived Experience Training & Development Lead, you will:
• Spearhead the development and delivery of bespoke training programmes, including Developing Expertise in Peer WorkingandPeer Support Worker Supervision Training.
• Lead and support a talented team of Peer Educators.
• Drive strategic initiatives and collaborations with various stakeholders to expand peer and lived experience training nationally.
• Innovate and develop training pathways and leadership programmes to enhance peer and lived experience career progression.
• Promote cultural change towards recovery-focused practices and co-production within the organisation.
Job summary:
The role will be responsible for developing, supporting, supervising and line managing Peer Educators working within the Peer & Lived Experience Training Team. They will have operational oversight of the accredited Level 4 ‘Developing Expertise in Peer Working’ programme delivered nationally. They will lead and develop the Peer & Lived Experience Training Team, providing high quality supervision, CPPD opportunities and holding line management responsibilities. They will also lead on the in-person module delivered for and by staff in CNWL, working closely with the Training Project Delivery Officer to ensure effective and timely co-ordination and rollout, as well as liaising with the accrediting provider.
The post holder will be responsible for working with services to progress the development of peer and lived experience workers and engage with partners on the development of training for and in services that incorporate peer and lived experience workers.
The postholder will participate in the development, evaluation and promotion of the peer training offer, contributing to national discourse related to peer training and linking regularly with NHS England and other NHS Trusts offering training to remain up to date with the latest developments and innovations in this area and ensure best standards in peer training development and delivery are embedded in the CNWL provision.
