Description Quality Engineer – Powergen Projects Join us at a time of transformation and lead the Product Quality Council process to improve quality across the Power generation projects team. In this role, here are some of the ways you will make an impact: Directs and drives activities that plan, track, and report on delivered quality and reliability of products or subsystems. Ensures that all issues reported through corrective action requests, supplier corrective action requests, or nonconforming materials reports are addressed in a timely and cost-effective manner. Establishes processes and tools to improve functional excellence in the prevention of failures, networks with other Product Quality Council Leaders to understand trends within the organization and to solve cross-business unit and cross-functional quality challenges. Identifies and coaches’ resources necessary to achieve long-term and short-term business goals, defines emerging or potential problems and prioritizes effective containment through work with product quality teams. Reviews post-implementation exercises to implement improvement suggestions and leverage identified strengths across the organization. Uses AIAG core tools to drive improvements in supplier quality performance. Drives 7 step activities to provide effective corrective actions to customer issues. Qualifications To be successful in this role you will need the following: Quality Leadership (Cummins Operating System) - Demonstrates knowledge of Cummins Operating Systems, principles, and customer centric mindset, enables data driven proactive decision making to achieve zero defects; uses metrics to drive continuous improvement. Advanced Product Quality Planning - Leads the technical quality planning and ensures customer satisfaction through structured and measurable processes as defined by industry standard. AIAG Core tool experience – Practical application of MSA, PPaP, APQP, FMEA etc. Statistical Foundations - Applies statistical tools and technique to influence decision making; leverages understanding of data collection methods, key statistics, graphical and analytical methods to describe process performance, gain insights and drive improvement action. College, university, or equivalent degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related technical or scientific subject required, this position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Significant relevant work experience required, including managerial and budgetary experience. Broad business knowledge required, Quality point of contact for customers and suppliers both internal and external.
