We are looking for a tenacious, competent and organized individual to join our high-paced, dynamic IT Team in Bar Hill. You will be working with colleagues in other Teams to develop the front and back end of our website. Responsibilities of our Junior Web Developer: Developing, debugging and redeveloping modules and web applications for our website using PHP and JavaScript/JQuery code Identifying and fixing small and medium sized bugs Adding features to existing code in our web application Working as part of the team on development projects Adhering to SEO best practice for all tasks Suggesting automation and/or improvements for front and back-end processes and functionality Skills and Experience Required: University degree in computer science, IT (BSc, MSc, PhD), equivalent experience or demonstrable interest in coding 1-3 years' experience with PHP (at least intermediate level) and MySQL databases (at least intermediate level) Knowledge of core web technologies, including HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Ability to write, read and interpret existing PHP code to understand the function and be able to debug the code Fluent in English It would be great if you had: Experience with Opencart Ability to use MVC model and Git (version control system) You will be organized, efficient and practical. You will be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and will enjoy working both alone and in a team and be passionate about coding. You will be great at logical thinking and solving problems and be tenacious with a keen eye for detail. You will be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written and have the ability to articulate technical content to nontechnical stakeholders. You will enjoy challenges and be eager to learn.
