About the Role: U.S. Pipe is seeking a Maintenance Director based in Birmingham, Alabama. The Maintenance Director is responsible for providing maintenance support to multiple U.S. Pipe plants in Alabama, California, and Virginia. This position is responsible for identifying and managing equipment/asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plants or business operations. The incumbent primarily focuses on developing and implementing a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program with emphasis on planning, scheduling, executing, and reviewing effectiveness on the five components of TPM:
1. Preventive Maintenance
2. Predictive Maintenance
3. Daily Operation Based Maintenance
4. Corrective Maintenance
5. Equipment Design/Upgrade for Ease of Maintainability
The incumbent will also partner with maintenance engineering, stores, and operations to implement and optimize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) based tools. The Maintenance Director will have no direct reports; instead, they will focus on strategic planning and advising related to maintenance program development. This position will observe confidentiality of all customer and company information.
Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
2. Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Director and 10 years of maintenance experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
3. Previous experience in Director level support of multiple plants.
4. Strong understanding and experience in predictive maintenance is highly desired.
5. Strong understanding and commitment to safety.
6. Lean Training and/or certification is a plus.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Excellent oral and writing communication skills with strong presentation and public speaking skills.
9. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meet all required deadlines.
10. Strong sense of urgency in meeting customer needs.
11. Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software; previous SAP knowledge is a plus.
12. Must be comfortable with a minimum of 50% travel in support of this role.
