Role Overview:
We are seeking a resilient and dedicated LSA to join our team on a full-time, fixed-term basis. This role involves supporting students with high Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and non-verbal communication, within our Bridge class. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide one-to-one support across other classes, addressing challenging behaviours and fostering a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support to students with ASD and non-verbal communication needs in the Bridge class.
- Support students in managing challenging behaviour's, employing appropriate strategies to promote positive behaviour.
- Facilitate communication and social interaction among students, utilising alternative communication methods as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with students with high SEN needs and challenging behaviours.
- Understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and strategies to support non-verbal students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to remain patient, resilient, and adaptable in a dynamic school environment
