Position: Site Agent - Civil Engineering Role Overview: As a Site Agent, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of civil engineering and construction sites, ensuring successful delivery of projects from start to finish. You will manage site teams, coordinate with clients, and ensure compliance with all health and safety standards, project specifications, and budgets. Key Responsibilities: As a Site Agent, you will maintain commercial performance of the contract and ensure the successful delivery of projects. You will be responsible for producing and managing the project programme, supervising its delivery, and understanding and interpreting project drawings and specifications. Providing engineering expertise and support to the project team will be essential, as will ensuring all staff, subcontractors, and visitors are inducted and meet the necessary qualifications. You will represent the business to customers, the public, and official bodies while ensuring customer satisfaction with the delivery of the project. You will also be responsible for producing high-quality, accurate monthly reports for both the client and internally. Leading weekly site meetings in line with company procedures and obtaining accurate and relevant ‘as built’ information will be part of your duties. In terms of health, safety, environment, and quality, you will ensure compliance with company procedures and legal obligations while promoting best practices. You will be responsible for fostering a safe working culture and ensuring environmental compliance on-site. It will be crucial for you to maintain up-to-date HSEQ documentation, carry out regular inspections, and generate required audits and reports. You will also liaise with third parties and government agencies as required. Cost control will also be a key aspect of your role. You will manage the project cost plan, ensuring the project remains within budget, and you will maintain a commercial focus to drive out costs. Accurate completion of site diaries and records will also fall under your responsibilities. Resource management is another important part of your role. You will need to resolve any resource-related issues promptly and ensure that records of resources are complete and accurate. You will also be expected to meet monthly and weekly reporting deadlines and ensure adherence to business unit objectives, while making sure the 3 Pillar KPI measures are met. Key Relationships: You will work closely with customers and stakeholders, subcontractors and suppliers, as well as site teams and support departments. Person Specification: The successful candidate will likely meet the following criteria: You should have considerable experience in civil engineering and a working knowledge of NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programme and risk management, and cost control. A degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent is required, along with a CSCS card, SMSTS card, and a full driving licence. Strong communication, people, and team management skills with the ability to motivate others are essential. You should be able to challenge designs and resolve problems, and you must demonstrate behaviours that align with the company values and culture. It is desirable that you are working towards CEng, IEng AMICE, or equivalent. Experience in water-related projects, Temporary Works Co-ordinator qualification, and leadership experience would be advantageous. Additional certifications such as service avoidance training, confined space training, Appointed Person CPCS card, and NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications are also desirable.
