Job Opportunity: Night Shift Vessel Technician at Suttons International Location: Widnes Salary: Competitive Suttons International, a family-owned global logistics business, seeking a Vessel Technician to join our Widnes Head Office Depot. You will be joining our existing vessel and workshop teams, working Monday – Thursday 20:00 – 07:00. The Role Carrying out essential vessel maintenance including periodic vessel testing, repairs, monitoring and reporting, you’ll play a fundamental part in ensuring our testing procedures are followed putting safety first. This is a great opportunity for someone new to the Tanker industry to learn from a team working in a safe and clean environment using high spec equipment. This role is open to someone who has a mechanical background, is vigilant and thorough in their monitoring and reporting, able to a work nights and is open to in-house training. Key Accountabilities Ensuring Periodic Vessel Testing is completed in line with our Safe Operating Procedure Carrying out running defect repairs Diagnosing faults Working on General Purpose and Gas tanks Purging out of flammable vessels Repairs to Pneumatic operating systems Access to the inside of vessels to carry out inspections and repairs Skills & Experience Conscientious Health & Safety conscious Excellent Communication skills Can work to tight deadlines within a high pressure, customer and profit focused environment Ability to work as a team or as an individual There will be exceptional opportunities to be trained in Working at Height, Manual Handling, Confided Space, Breathing Apparatus, Permit Writing, Abrasive Wheels and Rescue from Tank where required.
