Specialist Primary Mental Health Practitioner

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Specialist Primary Mental Health Practitioner to join our team and support the CAMHS Primary Mental Health Service. Working with the team leader, you will address the mental health needs of children and young people, collaborating with local authority partners and third-sector organisations.
You will provide leadership within the team, offer advice and consultation on mental health issues, and collaborate with service district managers to provide training, consultation and joint case working with primary care staff.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to early intervention and prevention within child and adolescent mental health services. We are looking for candidates with experience in this field and a broad range of therapeutic approaches.
Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Senior Clinical Nurse Manager, your responsibilities will include:
1. Lead development of CAMHS Primary Mental Health.
2. Oversee your own caseload, including assessment, treatment planning, and evaluation.
3. Provide a variety of therapeutic interventions.
4. Collaborate with district managers and primary care staff for training and case work.
5. Offer advice to professionals on therapeutic approaches.
6. Work with CAMHS, education, and social care teams to deliver holistic care.
7. Provide interventions autonomously and as part of a team in different settings.
8. Ensure clinical governance and standards of practice.
9. Promote best practices in clinical risk management, health, and safety.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
* Current RMN / RN (Mental Health), Social Work or Occupational Therapy registration
* ENB 603 / Diploma in CAMH or equivalent or specialist post registration clinical training relevant to CAMHS
* Teaching and Assessing ENB 998 / Mentorship or equivalent
* Degree in relevant subject
Experience
* Significant post registration experience including in a Band 6 CAMHS Community setting
* Recruitment / Selection and general HR management
* Performing PDR's
* Post registration experience equivalent to Masters level
* Budget management
* Setting and auditing clinical standards
* Utilisation of research in practice
* Project management
Knowledge and Skills
* Assessment and triage of referrals
* Knowledge of a broad range of therapy approaches to treatment
* Clinical practice relevant to the speciality
