Outpatient Therapy Lead Band 8A
Full time 37.5 per hour
An exciting new opportunity has arisen to appoint an Outpatient Therapy Lead for Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy and Dietetics.
The post holder will have experience of successfully leading others. We are looking for someone who enjoys the pace of life in a busy outpatient setting across our 6 service points in the county and has the energy to drive change and service improvements. The post holder needs to be prepared to invest their energy into supporting the leadership team in the development of these services.
The post holder will take a major role in highly advanced assessment and treatment of patients in their area of clinical speciality. You will be fully supported in this role by the Professional Lead Dietician, Occupational and Physiotherapist, Outpatient Team Leads, Clinical Specialists and Operational Lead. You will become part of a well-respected Therapy leadership group and will be encouraged to follow your special interests in this role.
This role includes Trust wide working, with an expectation that it will include the responsibility of operational leadership of an integrated therapy service across all sites.
Main duties of the job
1. Responsible for operational management and clinical leadership of Outpatient services, including management of a delegated budget, recruitment, retention and deployment of staff, absence management, managing complaints, procurement and managing resources.
2. Accountable for effective, efficient, high quality service performance.
3. Ensure effective communication between partners with ULHT and the wider healthcare community.
4. Represent Services at a local level, and as required at a Trust-wide level.
5. Ensure staff and department comply with relevant Trust policies and guidelines.
6. Maintain a clinical caseload, with clinical activity accounting for between 20-30% of working hours.

Essential
1. Diploma/degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy or Dietetics.
2. HCPC Registered.
3. Evidence of relevant post graduate courses/CPD.
Desirable
1. Supervisory Skills.
2. Working towards 'M' level accreditation.
Previous Experience
Essential
1. Experience in an outpatient setting at Senior level in a specialist field and leading a team.
2. Validated managerial course.
