Your Role as Deputy SENCO: Support the SENCO in leading and managing the school’s SEN provision. Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure effective SEN support. Assist in identifying students with SEN and coordinating Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) and targeted interventions. Provide training and guidance to teachers on differentiation, inclusive teaching strategies, and behaviour management. Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student progress and well-being. Support the monitoring of student progress and data analysis to ensure tailored interventions meet individual needs. Play a key role in shaping the school’s inclusive policies and SEN strategies. Who We’re Looking For: ✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience working with students with SEN. ✅ Previous experience as a SENCO, Deputy SENCO, or strong SEN teaching experience. ✅ A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes. ✅ Excellent leadership, organisation, and communication skills. ✅ A passion for inclusive education and ensuring every child reaches their full potential. ✅ NASENCO qualification (or willingness to work towards it). ✅ An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
