We are seeking a Maintenance Worker / Handyman for a fantastic Elderly Care Home in the Haslemere area. They are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker to join their established care home on a full-time, permanent contract working Monday to Friday.
You can either work full-time based at this 1 service or alternatively taken on a ‘Regional Maintenance’ role. This will be 2 or 3 days based at the Haslemere home, and 2 or 3 days supporting other services in the group (Hindhead, Godalming, and Guildford).

Job description
As the full-time Maintenance Worker / Handyman, you will take responsibility for resolving any home maintenance concerns promptly, ensuring that the care home is a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. You will have a working knowledge of building systems and related regulatory requirements including, but not limited to: plumbing, HVAC, electrical, equipment repairs, and interior/exterior finishes.
You must have good knowledge of relevant health and safety and trade regulations, and have the ability to assess and manage risk. Importantly, you must also have the ability to work on your own initiative and address potential issues as they may arise before they affect the daily running of the Care Home.

Care Home Maintenance Worker responsibilities:
* Identify and carry out repairs and improvements in accordance with the Care Home’s procedures and quality standards.
* Ensure a safe environment is maintained at all times within the Home, reporting any incidents, accidents, infections, or hazards/faults.
* Re-order/purchase supplies within agreed budgets, liaising with the Home Manager where necessary.
* Carry out all required tests and checks for various systems of the home on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
Care Home Maintenance Worker skills/experience:
* Good general property maintenance knowledge and skills
* Previous experience as a Maintenance Assistant, Handyman, or Head of Maintenance is preferred
* Relevant qualifications such as NVQ/Diploma/City & Guilds and Health & Safety/NEBOSH certificate
