SEMH School Role in Crewe
An SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) School in Crewe is seeking an individual who can serve as a positive role model for pupils disengaged with their studies. The ideal candidate will work closely with students exhibiting challenging behaviors and social/emotional difficulties.
This role presents challenges but is highly rewarding, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives.
Responsibilities
1. Provide opportunities for students to progress academically, socially, and emotionally
2. Lead by example as a role model
3. Conduct sports and activity sessions
4. Understand individual students' personalities and needs
5. Offer guidance and mentoring
6. Maintain an understanding or interest in sports
7. Create a safe learning environment
8. Manage challenging or disruptive behaviors
9. Provide advice and support
10. Develop students' self-confidence, positive self-image, and independence
11. Adhere fully to safeguarding policies and procedures

Requirements
* At least 6 months of experience in the UK
* Experience working with children in a professional setting
* Experience in care or with vulnerable individuals (if the above is not met)
* Sports background
* A strong personality
* DBS check on the update service (preferred but not essential)
* Ability to obtain references from previous work with children or in care
