Our non-urgent ambulance service transports patients between hospitals, care homes and clinics, for medical appointments and treatment. As an Ambulance Care Assistant, successful candidates will have a calm and caring nature, and be a safe and confident driver. WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
* Transporting non-emergency patients to and from hospitals, clinics or other healthcare facilities
* Working as a single or double crew, responsible for either driving the ambulance or supporting the travelling patient
* Regular heavy-lifting, using equipment such as wheelchairs, stretchers and carry chairs
* Assisting patients in and out of the ambulance, ensuring their comfort and safety during transportation
* Liaising with healthcare professionals and other staff to ensure a high level of patient care
* Completing patient documentation and reports accurately and in a timely manner
* Maintaining the ambulance equipment and supplies, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
* A full UK driving licence is essential
* A caring and understanding nature, with friendly manner
* Previous care-giving experience would be advantageous
* The ability to work in a role that requires regular heavy-lifting of patients, as well as exposure to bodily fluids (including urine, faeces, vomit and blood)
* A calm and considerate driver with good knowledge of UK road signs and the Highway Code
* You must pass a drug and alcohol test
* You must provide your last 5 years of address history
* You must provide your full employment history and CV (starting from day 1 of employment)
