We are seeking to appoint Consultant Anaesthetists to join our talented and dedicated team of consultants across our three acute hospital sites (Prince Charles Hospital, Royal Glamorgan Hospital and Princess of Wales). The new post holders will be based at one of our three sites; however, there will be opportunities to work across sites should the need arise.
Cwm Taf Morgannwg has a vibrant anaesthetic department which has taken the lead in introducing many quality improvement initiatives across the health board. The team prides itself on its friendly and inclusive nature and its innovative approach to delivering the best possible care to its patients.
You will be joining us at an exciting time for the organisation as we develop regional diagnostic and day surgery facilities at Llantrisant Health Park for the communities of South East Wales; Clinical Leadership for this programme is provided by one of our consultant anaesthetists.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will assist in the provision and development of safe, effective and efficient anaesthetic services across the health board. The job plan will consist of 10 sessions made up of 8 DCC's and 2 SPA sessions per week. Further SPA will be awarded for additional duties by mutual agreement.
Clinical sessions will comprise of emergency and elective theatre sessions and non-resident on call. Rota frequency for the on-call commitment will be 1:14 - 1:19 depending on base site.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
* Fellow Royal College of Anaesthetists or equivalent
* Must be on the specialist register, be within 6 months of attaining a CCT or be eligible for inclusion on the specialist register within 6 months at the time of interview
* Eligibility to work and live in the UK
* Advanced Life Support Provider
* Advanced Life Support or Equivalent Instructor
* Possession of an additional degree, diploma or post-grad qualification
* Specialist interest in Obstetrics, Perioperative Medicine, Regional Anaesthesia, Advanced Airway or Paediatrics
Knowledge and Experience
* Broad experience in Anaesthetics
* Experience of participation in audit and/or quality improvement in the last 6 months
* Experience in teaching
* Publication(s) in professional journals
