At Clarus Education, we are working with an FE College who are seeking to appoint a FE Physics Lecturer based in Uxbridge, West London.
The Sixth Form at Uxbridge College is responsible primarily for the delivery of A Level, AS, GCSE and BTEC Science courses and is based at the Uxbridge site. We have a track record of achieving strong results which places the Sixth Form in the top 10% of colleges nationally for A level progress.
We are looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated part time lecturer of Physics to teach A level, BTEC and GCSE Physics.
You will possess a degree in Physics or a closely related subject (e.g. Engineering) and have teaching experience in the subject area up to A level, with a track record of excellent teaching and learning.
You should have good communication and interpersonal skills and be able to engage and inspire young people aged 16-19. If you do not already possess a teaching qualification, the College will support you to obtain the Level 5 teaching qualification.
Person Specification:
* A degree in Physics or closely related subject (e.g. Engineering)
*An advanced level teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g. DET, PGCE) ** or willing to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification, supported by the College
* Experience of teaching Physics up to Level 3 including delivery of A-Level
* Ability to teach a second subject up to GCSE (preferably maths)
*Ability to demonstrate excellent teaching and learning which evidences the raising and/or maintaining of student achievement and progress.
* Evidence of delivering high rates of student attendance, retention and achievement, including details of the methods you have used to achieve this
*The ability to take on course leadership responsibility
* The ability to engage and inspire vocational learners aged 16-18
