Here at Cover People we are keen to offer graduates the opportunity to work within mainstream schools This allows you to gain crucial temporary experience before applying for your PGCE, SCITT or other teacher training courses, allowing you to decide whether it’s the correct career path Or maybe you’re on a gap year and you’ve always wanted to work with children. We are looking for confident applicants with strong communication skills and a real desire to work with children aged 11-16, who are confident to manage the behaviour within mainstream classrooms straight away. If either of the above applies to you, then great because here at Cover People, we are seeking enthusiastic individuals to work in mainstream secondary schools across Rochdale in a variety of roles, including as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant or Mentor roles. Position: Aspiring Teacher (Graduates) Location: Oldham (Secondary Schools) Employment Type: Full time or Part time, Mon to Fri 8:30AM to 3:30PM (flexible on the days) Key responsibilities may include: Be a stand-in for class teachers to manage classroom behaviour Support the delivery of engaging and interactive lessons. Assist teachers with lesson planning and classroom management. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students. Inspire and motivate students to develop an interest in a particular subject Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Requirements: BSc or equivalent, MSc or PhD OR Certificate of Education A passion for education and working with young people Confidence to supervise and manage classrooms Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Cover People UK.
