We are a large inclusive primary school and require an enthusiastic and suitably qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support autistic children in our Specialist Resource Provision (SRP). We are seeking to permanently appoint a practitioner experienced in supporting children with barriers to learning and Autism, and with the motivation and positivity to get the best out of our SRP pupils and their supporting adults.
The SRP HLTA will work under the direction and guidance of the SRP Lead Teacher. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting autistic children to successfully access all learning activities in the SRP and mainstream classrooms and will be willing to make a positive contribution to the life of our school.
The role is for 32.5 hours per week (6.5 hours each day, 8.45am to 3.45pm, Monday to Friday), 38 weeks per year (term time only). The pay scale is Kent Range 6 at £25,127 per annum for a full-time position which equates to approximately £18,661 per annum pro rata for this role, plus a SEN allowance of £1441.72 per annum (total annual salary for this role is therefore £20,102.72).
We require a good standard of general education and GCSE qualifications or equivalent in English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or above. Verification of qualifications will be required before employment can commence so please do not declare any qualifications unless you can produce the original certificate.
A formal 30 minute interview will take place with a panel comprising of members of the Leadership Team. Candidates will also be required to lead a 30 minute social communication and interaction activity with a small group of children.

All new employees to the School, including those with previous local government service, shall be subject to a 6 month probationary period.
