The role:
We are currently seeking a proactive and motivated individual to join our Electrical Design Team based in our offices in Newcastle city centre. Working on a variety of exciting and bespoke engineering projects for our Offshore Energy product market group.
You will be responsible for:
1. Electrical Design.
2. Specification Writing.
3. Specifying of parts.
4. Costing of Projects.
5. Technical Support to Customers.
6. Inspection and Test / FAT writing.
7. working on Electrical Department Standardisation and Efficiency Initiatives.
8. Undertake the electrical design of work packs or projects with minimal supervision.
9. Delivery of complex engineering solutions to agreed time scales and budgets.
10. Ability to estimate, forecast, plan and execute to agreed plans.
11. Provide technical support and guidance for commissioning and installation activities.
12. Active engagement in Teams across the business.
13. Willing to challenge themselves and further their knowledge and experience as well as that of the business.
Job requirements:
14. Degree or Diploma qualified
15. Recent experience of a similar role in a bespoke engineering environment
16. Experienced in designing:
17. Power distribution systems at both 230V & 440VAC
18. Machine control and instrumentation systems
19. Control Panel design
20. Motor starter or VSD design
21. Experienced in Electrical CAD packages.
22. Experienced in working to ISO9001 or equivalent in a project based organization
23. Eplan Electric P8 experience
24. Previous experience within the Marine / Offshore environment
25. Working knowledge of DNV GL & Lloyds rules
26. Experience of working with Subsea Vehicles including design of High Voltage systems
27. Knowledge & experience of relevant functional safety standards (IEC61508, IEC61511, IEC13849)
28. Commissioning & Test experience (advantageous)
29. Good communicator
30. active and participating member of teams, department and project teams
31. A high level of competence with IT systems and tools
