Contract: Initial Interim About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Officer to join a leading local government body. The successful candidate will support the Procurement Manager in delivering value-for-money procurement services, ensuring compliance with UK and EU regulations while providing expert advice to internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Overseeing procurement processes, ensuring compliance with Council policies and procurement regulations. Advising on procurement risks and minimising exposure to potential challenges. Managing e-Procurement transactions, including e-Tenders and e-RFQs. Preparing tender and quotation documents, conducting evaluations, and providing recommendations. Conducting market research to ensure best value for money and supplier performance monitoring. Managing fuel stock audits for Council fleets and buildings. Providing training and guidance to staff on procurement procedures. Essential Criteria A Level 4 qualification (HNC or equivalent) with at least one year of experience in procurement competitions. OR at least two years of experience in procurement competitions if no formal qualification. Strong knowledge of e-Procurement systems and experience in tender documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Email). Ability to analyse data, provide reports, and work effectively with stakeholders.
