Job Description
We are currently looking for a skilled Printer & Copier Equipment Field Engineer to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience working with a range of photocopier brands and models, demonstrating strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues promptly.
In addition to technical expertise, this role requires the ability to meticulously document all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring that accurate records are maintained and regular reports are submitted to the management team. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced setting, demonstrating both efficiency and discretion while servicing equipment within customer offices.

- Salary: £35000 - £42000 per annum depending on experience.

Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Provide technical assistance with the installation of new machines.
2. Install the printers and configure them on the network.
3. If supplemental parts are required to keep the printer running, the printer technicians might be responsible for the procurement and installation of those parts.
4. Ensure papers are loaded correctly in all printers to minimize paper jams and reduce maintenance calls.
5. In case of a mechanical issue, the printer technician repairs and replaces faulty parts.
6. Keep track of the ink levels in the printer cartridges on a daily basis and replace ink cartridges, as necessary.
7. Maintain laser printers by staying aware of new software applications as well as advancements in laser printing hardware.
8. Perform regular maintenance activity at times when that maintenance will not interfere with regular production work.
9. Troubleshoot network configuration issues for the network printers to function properly.
10. Coordinate with the Information Technology Department to address any upgrade of their antivirus and network patches to ensure security.
11. Responsible for the timely and cost-effective maintenance and repair of office product equipment and for promoting and maintaining an elevated level of customer satisfaction with our service and products.
Mandatory Skills:
1. 4 years+ experience in the field.
2. Knowledge of Basic Networking.
3. Computer and analytical skills.
4. Prior experience in the maintenance and repair of printers manufactured by HP, Brother, Lexmark, Okidata, Xerox, Cannon, etc.
5. Possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
6. Complete all administrative aspects of the job on time and error-free.
7. Provide accurate feedback with close call information, parts usage reporting, and customer meter readings.
8. Must be able to problem solve and conduct written and verbal communication, read and comprehend technical information.
9. Maximize equipment uptime through timely response and effective and efficient repair with selective customer training.
10. Ability to troubleshoot and think independently.
11. Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
12. Cloud print software management experience.
13. Document management software experience (e.g.: Uniflow) would be an advantage.
14. Ability to train the end users.
15. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
16. Pull, lift, reach, and transport equipment parts and boxes.
17. Must have a valid driver's license and own vehicle.
