Job Title: Quality Coordinator
Location: Outskirts of Ashford, Kent (you will need your own transport)
Salary: £30,000 - £32,000
Hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm

Role Summary:
To assist the Technical Manager in maintaining food safety, quality and hygiene practices. Provide competent and efficient support to both technical and interdepartmental functions. Ensure safety, quality and legality of product and practices across the business. Provide the site technical team with information about adherence to compliance against required standards. Identify and communicate any deviations from the standards using audit and inspection of premises, practices, processes, raw materials and finished products against specified standard.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:
1. Completion of technical information for internal and external reports.
2. Ensure information is generated and logged in timely and detail-oriented manner.
3. Inspect and assess raw materials and finished products against specification.
4. Contribute to customer complaints investigations.
5. Audit site production and technical traceability and CCP paperwork, to ensure it is completed to the highest standard.
6. Support generation of quality statements.
7. Calibrate measuring equipment i.e. probes and scales.
8. Cover in the absence of Technical Coordinator.
9. Complete GMP audits and contribute to the improvement of site standards.
10. Accompany contractors when completing inspections on site.
11. Collect samples on delivery, assess them against specification and maintain the stock of products.
12. Collect and prepare samples to be sent to the laboratory for testing.
13. Inform when stock of consumables is low and needs to be ordered.
14. Complete allergen rapid testing, arrange allergen samples and swabs to be sent to the lab.
15. Complete environmental control testing by taking various swabs and samples.
16. Collect and organise retention library samples, by taking ownership of samples area.
17. Complete internal audits.
18. Log laboratory samples for micro, nutrition, pesticide and heavy metals, and shelf-life analysis.
19. Ensure QMS documentation is relevant and request improvement where needed.
20. Conduct daily taste panels, record results and publish to wider teams.
21. Perform temperature checks in freezer environment (-18°C).
22. Preparation of samples for customers and other departments.
23. Support other members of the team.
24. To work closely with members of other teams throughout Ardo.
25. Actively assist with the gathering and generating data regarding quality and food safety.
26. Contribute ideas and solutions to improve the team's service delivery.
27. Communicate and collaborate with other departments to complete necessary tasks.
28. Keep the Technical Manager informed regarding any issues.
29. Inspect products, raw materials, processes and practices against standards and positively contribute to improvements.
30. Trend data to report any out of ordinary spikes in microbiological or chemical or status quality issues.
31. Generate and log relevant information to SAP system, review and retrieve relevant data when required to prove due diligence.
32. Identify and report out of standard behaviours and practices, propose rectification.
Experience and skills required for this position:
1. Minimum of Food Safety Level 3 and HACCP Level 2
2. Minimum of 3 years' experience within the Food Manufacturing Industry
3. Good level of PC literacy; ability to proficiently use MS Office
4. Proactive attitude
5. Ability to work on own initiative but also as a team
6. Understanding of Microbiology and hazards
7. Flexibility and reliability
8. Good communicator and able to organise in a busy environment
