Role Description
We are looking for an experienced individual to join our Procurement function and help us deliver against a robust set of regulatory requirements and opportunities.
As our Senior Governance and Assurance Officer, you will work at a strategic level with internal stakeholders to ensure that key controls and minimum requirements under our Sourcing, Outsourcing and Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) policies are conducted correctly, assessed for quality, and appropriately stored for audit and compliance purposes. The role will entail leading/supporting cross-functional teams to ensure that this vital part of the Procurement risk activity is conducted smoothly, effectively, and allows us to demonstrate compliance with Group and regulatory requirements as relating to Outsourcing and TPRM requirements.
This will be a hybrid role from any of our UK offices.
Key accountabilities
1. To support and enhance the Outsourcing and Third-Party Risk Management function advising on regulatory requirements and best practice, providing quality assurance and governance.
2. Support Procurement in ensuring that risks (ESG, Financial, Ethical, infosec, concentration etc.) and associated mitigation activity always reflects best practice, current regulatory and group standards.
3. Validate and assess due diligence evidences are received, collated, and stored appropriately during competitive tender activities.
4. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines related to Outsourcing and third-party risk management.
5. Assist in the implementation of Outsourcing and TPRM policies, procedures, and standards within the first line of defence, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
6. Establish mechanisms to obtain appropriate management information (MI) and reporting as part of the various ongoing monitoring requirements for the Third-Party Arrangements and ensure that ongoing monitoring requirements are adhered to.
7. Define appropriate monitoring mechanisms in line with the Group Outsourcing and TPRM Functions monitoring mechanisms to measure and steer the OE Outsourcing and TPRM frameworks. This includes their integration into the NFRM framework.
8. Collaborate with safeguarding teams to integrate third-party risk considerations into the overall operational model.
9. Work with other safeguarding functions to ensure that external (to procurement) processes are followed in relation to supplier due diligence, for example, Privacy Impact Assessments and Information Security assessments are conducted.
10. Perform required updates to the UK Outsourcing and TPRM Frameworks in line with Group Standards, local Regulatory requirements, and best practice using appropriate governance forums for sign-off.
11. Support notification to supervisory authority in accordance with the stipulated timelines set by the regulation.
12. Assist in preparing for and responding to audits and inquiries related to outsourcing and third-party risk management.
Essential Skills
1. Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of Procurement and risk management processes, specifically due diligence and risk assessment and remediation activities.
2. Understanding of supplier assurance and relationship management practices.
3. Excellent understanding of corporate risk/risk management as demonstrated by experience working in Banking and or Insurance sectors in Assurance / TPRM roles.
Desirable Skills
1. MCIPS - qualified or working towards qualification (preferred).
2. Experience of interacting with the PRA, FCA, and or the Bank of England.
