We are seeking a Senior Technical Manager to create innovative solutions for residential housing projects.
The successful candidate will be based at our Shirley office and will travel to our development sites as required.
The Senior Technical Manager supports the Technical Director by assisting with the briefing and coordination of consultants, reviewing applications and proposals and providing technical support to other departments.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
* Experience of using Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.
* Detailed knowledge of the latest Standards such as Robust Details, Building Regulations, and the NHBC standards.
* Experienced in working in a house building environment.
MAIN DUTIES
* Monitor and achieve targets set in the Critical Date Summary, ensuring that complete drawing packages are issued on time.
* Assist the Technical Director in producing technical reports and associated fee schedules for new sites.
* Liaise with the Land and Planning Departments over site-specific problems raised during land acquisition and organize Consultants to carry out work on behalf of the Land and Planning Departments.
* Brief/Appoint & coordinate consultants and interrogate designs including value engineering of all working drawing packages.
* Manage pre-contract applications including postal addresses, statutory notifications, Initial Notice, code registration, and NHBC registrations.
* Liaise with appointed consultants to discharge NHBC Building Control conditions.
* Provide technical information and resolve technical issues for other departments.
* Collaborate with the Planning team to submit information for planning condition approval, including the preparation of External Material Schedules.
* Ensure the approval of nominated suppliers’ information with appointed consultants.
* Attend progress meetings and site visits on a weekly/fortnightly basis and internal meetings with other departments.
* Produce legal handover packs, providing details of any legal agreements, NHBC warranty information, drawings, conveyance plans, and any relevant information for the solicitor to prepare the sales legal pack.
* Check marketing information in relation to sales brochures and general marketing literature.
* Support site teams and attend monthly site meetings.
* Liaise with the Housing Association and their agent, providing conveyance plans, attending regular meetings, and providing Health & Safety packs on completion.
* Manage office administration, record keeping, filing of drawings onto the system, and preparation/monitoring of pre-contract programs.
