Pastoral Support Assistant

Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 14 February 2025
Salary: Grade 7, Point 11 (Actual Salary £21,143 – pay award pending)Rawlins is seeking to appoint a Pastoral Support Assistant. Duties will include supporting students with pastoral care, including helping with behaviour, carrying out duties and supervising students, planning and conducting pastoral support sessions and interventions, supporting the on-call system and supporting students with de-escalation as well as other duties and responsibilities required by the role.
The school is in an exciting phase of embedding positive systems and routines. This has been facilitated through the bringing together of a Care, Guidance and Welfare team consisting of all staff, including a core team of Heads of Year, Wellbeing Officers, Attendance Officers and Pastoral Managers. The school’s ethos is one where a well-supported and happy young person will be a successful learner and will open up opportunities for success and a love of learning for their future.
This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Leicestershire’s largest secondary schools, with over 1500 on roll including more than 300 in our A-Level specific Sixth Form. We are a highly inclusive school having our own Autism and a Moderate Learning Difficulties specialist unit on site alongside our school’s SEND support base. Pupils who attend these units are an integrated part of our school community.
